Leinster House was originally known as Kildare House, after James Fitzgerald, the Earl of Kildare, who commissioned it to be built between 1745-47.
It was re-named 'Leinster House' in 1766.There are two main entrances - Kildare Street and the Garden Front which faces on to Merrion Street.
An original copy of the Easter 1916 Proclamation of the first Republic also hangs in the hall.
The garden contains an obelisk raised to the first Executive Council for the Free State.
